About Us
DBD Toronto - History
Day By Day Christian Ministries Toronto started as a “Family Home Bible” study
group in February 2001 under the leadership of Bro. Billy Lintag.  The residence of
Bro. Mardie and Sis. Haidee Cabangon was the haven of DBD Toronto for over a year
where bible studies, trainings and fellowships were held.  The very first worship
service in August 26, 2001 was also held at their residence.

In October 2002, Bro. Joey Pacheco joined the leadership and paved the way for
weekly worship services and meetings held at North York Memorial Hall.  In October
2003 DBD Toronto became a registered non-profit organization.  Since then, Day By
Day Toronto grew thru the help of volunteer workers who not only contributed their
talents and resources but unselfishly gave their commitments to be of service to the
Lord.

Over the years, our Lord Jesus Christ has been faithful and true in all our
endeavours.  As we move on and fulfill His calling thru our “Cultural Redemption
Ministry”, it is our prayer that we will be able to help bring back the character and
culture that is truly Filipino and most of all give the highest honour and glory to our
Lord Jesus Christ.
STATEMENT OF FAITH

WE BELIEVE IN THE GREAT DOCTRINES OF THE HOLY SCRIPTURES AND OF THE BIBLICAL CHRISTIAN FAITH.

I.  BIBLE

We believe that the Holy Scriptures (66) books, consisting of the Old (39 books) and New Testament (27 books), are
verbally inspired and without error in their original writings.

We believe that the writers of the Bible wrote them under the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Bible is the revealed and inerrant word of God and are therefore our final authority in matters of faith
and conduct.

  1 Corinthians 2:13                2 Timothy 3:16                Luke 24:27, 44
  2 Peter 1:21                               Acts 1:16                      John 5:39

II.  GOD

We believe in one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe not only the complete oneness of God, but also the equally complete distinctiveness of the three persons who
make up the Godhead.

  Genesis 1:26                    Deuteronomy 6:4                John 10:30
  Matthew 3:13-17               Matthew 28:19                2 Corinthians 13:14

We believe in God’s natural attributes; that He is eternal, unchanging, omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient.
We believe in God’s moral qualities; that He is holy, righteous, merciful, faithful, and loving.

  Deuteronomy 4:31                Psalm 145:17            James 1:17
  Psalm 139:7-9                     John 16:27                1 Peter 1:16
 Jeremiah 32:27                1  Corinthians 1:9        1 Timothy 1:17

We believe that God created the heavens and the earth and everything in it; that He created a host of spiritual and
sinless beings called angels. Some of them fell into sin and under the leadership of Satan who now oppose God and
His children; the rest retained their sinless status and are ministering as servants of God.

  Genesis 1:1 -  2:22                         Isaiah 14:12-17                2 Peter 2:4
  Ezekiel 28:11-19                             Luke 15:10                           Jude 6
2 Corinthians 4:3-4; 11:13-15          Ephesians 6:10-12

III.  JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ who is God from eternity, was sent by the Father, begotten by the Holy Spirit and born
of the virgin Mary and thus, is completely God and completely man.

We also believe that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of mankind and that He rose bodily from the grave, to
provide the only means by which sinful men can be reconciled with God.

We further believe in Christ’s present work for believers as High Priest and Advocate in Heaven, and in the “blessed
hope” of His second coming (personal and bodily return) to receive believers unto Himself and establish His millennial
kingdom on earth.

  Matthew 1:23-25               John 1:1, 14                Acts 34:12
  Luke 1:30-35                     John 20:28              2 Corinthians 5:14-15

IV.  HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God who indwells all true believers and accomplish regeneration in the life of those
believing in Christ.

We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts men of sin, sanctifies (positional) the believers, and empowers them to
overcome the present power of sin, and to witness for Christ.

We further believe that the Holy Spirit leads a sinner to repentance and acceptance of Christ as personal Lord and
Savior to the praise of the Father.

      John 16:4, v.8-16  v.17*-19           1 Corinthians 3:16
  2 Thessalonians 2:13                           Acts 1:8

V.  MAN

We believe that God created Adam as a sinless being, but because of the latter’s transgression, he fell from his original
innocence. Consequently, the descendants of Adam are born in sin and are subject to death and judgment, apart from
God’s grace.

We believe that all mankind sinned and fall short of the glory of God; hence, condemned to an eternal existence
separate from God.

  Genesis 1:26-27; 2:17; 3:6; 6:6                John 3:3-6
  Romans 3:23, 8:6-7                                    Ephesians 2:1-3

VI. SALVATION

We believe that men can be saved from sin and come into possession of eternal life by realizing their need for
repentance and by believing in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and sin-bearer. Salvation is by grace alone through
Christ alone and is entirely a free gift of God. Man’s only hope of salvation is through personal faith in Christ and cannot
possibly be achieved by good works.

We believe that God’s act of redemption in human history is vicarious and complete. Consequently, salvation is
God’s work alone from beginning to end.

  John 3:16-18                        John 1:12                    Acts 15:11
  Ephesians 1:7                     Ephesians 2:8-9        Acts 16:31
  Romans 1:16-17                 Romans 5:1-2

VII.  THE CHURCH

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers and that all true believers are members of the church (universal and
invisible), which is Christ’s body and of which He is the head.

We also believe in the local church which is the visible fellowship of redeemed men who meet for regular worship,
mutual edification, and for the celebration of the Lord’s Supper and Water Baptism.

We further believe that the universal invisible church is the institution commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ for mission
(to preach the gospel of Christ and make disciples of all nations) and that all Christians are called and commissioned by
the Lord to live to the glory of God and to win others to Christ.

  Matthew 28:18                         Romans 12:3-8                Acts 1:8                                 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
1 Corinthians 12:13-27            Acts 2:42-47                      Ephesians 1:22-23                Ephesians 2:13-22

VIII.  CULTURAL REDEMPTION AND CONTEXTUALIZATION

We believe in the biblical concept of culture: That all true culture has God as its Prime Author and Sovereign Lord.

We also believe that all culture, like everything else in the contemporary world, has been tainted with human sinfulness.
Hence, all art, all music, all poetry, all science, all philosophy, and even all theology displays the disfiguring marks of sin
to a greater or lesser extent.

We further believe that all creation (rational or irrational, animate or inanimate) groan and eagerly await redemption. It
therefore becomes the Christians calling and responsibility to redeem for God humankind (through evangelism and
witnessing) and his culture (through research, filtration and consecration).

Lastly, we believe that all cultures can adequately serve as tools for godly worship and as vehicles for the communication
of the Gospel. All cultures, therefore, must be filtered, consecrated, and offered back at the feet of Jesus Christ, to be
used only for His glory.

  Genesis 3:17-18                Romans 1:23                 Philippians 4:8
  Isaiah 64:6                          Romans 8:20-22        1 Corinthians 9:20-23
  Colossians 1:16, 20         Romans 11:36
